Full-foam tubs can become saturated by wicking moisture from the bottom or caused by leaks. Soaked insulation reduces the insulation, invites rot and mold and can swell and cause ice damage in freezing weather. A saturated tub can weigh too much to move, or cause it to buckle under its own weight if you try tipping it on end while moving it to your place.
